Hot Fill PET Bottles for 105 deg C

Shantou Chemtech Company has developed a new technology of blowing PET bottles for hot filling above 105 deg. The sample bottles from our lab tester can have heat resistance property of 110 deg, even for bottles after 2 months storage.

The technology includes the hot mold design, blowing process and a special additive blended into ordinary bottle grade resin while making preforms. The cycle time of blowing process is not longer than the presently used process.

We have applied for patent right in China.

That technology can find the following applications:
--- to blow PET bottles for hot filling or sterilization of 110 - 115 deg;
--- for tea and juice beverage with filling temp of around 90 deg, the weight of bottles can be reduced. For instance for 500 ml, the weight can be 26 - 27 grams;
--- longer storage time because of better heat set process;
--- less limited choice of bottle shape design.

All these advantages will open a new application of PET bottles to replace cans and glass bottles for milk and others.
